Wendy, my hubby ......and I missed this post, how?!! Wendy, my hubby possesses several love languages. We both have a copy of that book that we said that we would re-read together. (still workin' on that. LOL)
He likes what I call "shoulder to shoulder" (quality)time. When I'm just "being" with him.
As you observed in my post, he def. is a "server". I think I'll go clean our room while he's working today!!
As far as words of affirmation/encouragement, he IS such a talker and I'm basically always the listener. Thankfully though, I learned this years ago in my marriage; to affirm my man in all things and never, ever to belittle him in any way.
There are quite a few things I've learned about being a wife, but don't wanna take up all your room. LOL.
Time to go and be the best me I can for my man!
<3, Kela XOXOKelahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09074115439003700205noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7858170935046417472.post-40139877926734527462010-02-12T21:42:21.301-06:002010-02-12T21:42:21.301-06:00Jami, I tried to post this comment on your site an...Jami, I tried to post this comment on your site and wasn't able to make it work, so here it is: (Everybody go over and check out her darling site!)
Dear Jami, Hi! I am so excited about your blog! It's wonderful--I absolutely love it! (I feel so silly that I didn't know until now that you had a blog. Sometimes I'm so clueless.) Some of the things I love about your blog: hearts and swirls (I love hearts and swirls!) I love your "Mrs. Balmet" with the pink heart--I love pink, too--The black and pink swirly heart thing below your signature is fantastic. (And the "Wifey" ...is very sweet.) Your choice of name must have been inspired: "Intentionally Living out My Faith, My Love, My Life" (well, you know the name obviously, but the meaning and the way it flows, and how you formatted it up there, it looks wonderful) and the girl in the corner is so sweet: with her glasses and pearls, and youthful perkiness. I think your blog's cleanness--yet it's full of color--is what attracts me. I hope I can come up with a design so full of elements that I love for my blog (I've been searching for a new "look"). I am so glad you finally said something in a comment that led me to find this out. (And so sorry(!) I didn't find it sooner.) Anyway, Jami, I love not only the look, but the content, and I'm going to love getting to know you better (t)here.
Blessings,
WendyWendyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08230575436747893912noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7858170935046417472.post-21057468353310923792010-02-11T18:50:22.559-06:002010-02-11T18:50:22.559-06:00Thanks for such great advice, appreciate you. Thanks for such great advice, appreciate you.Denisehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09275456448997619944noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7858170935046417472.post-37805563206602638992010-02-11T17:33:35.480-06:002010-02-11T17:33:35.480-06:00Jami,

Yes, Gary Chapman's book and Gary Smalle...Jami,
Yes, Gary Chapman's book and Gary Smalley's seminars on Love Languages have been instrumental in our lives. They get the credit for what I shared with you. I agree with you that it's wonderful to be able to "articulate to each other just what we need to feel loved" and be able to say "I love you" and see that they feel loved. Christ is our example, isn't He, when you see Him able to show all the love languages to people in the Bible. I am kind of a mix, mostly "Physical Touch" but also very bigtime "Words of Encouragement." I guess that's partly why I blog. Have a great (first?) Valentine's Day as a married couple!
Blessings,
WendyWendyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08230575436747893912noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7858170935046417472.post-83772866344297671522010-02-11T15:34:08.664-06:002010-02-11T15:34:08.664-06:00Wow this is a great post!!

It's a great book that really helped my Hubby and I "discover" our love languages.

Knowing how to lovingly communicate to each other has been such a huge help! It's wonderful to be able to articulate to each other just what we need to feel loved.

And this doesn't just apply to our spouses. I"m a gift giver and have given amazing gifts before only to have then recieved with an "um. okay thanks". We need to learn how to give love in other people's languages so they can feel love recieved from us.

I always enjoy reading your blogs. You have such a vivid way of describing things. Thank you for writing on this!

Have a romantic Vday weekend :)Jami Balmethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11682755387255599948noreply@blogger.com
