Jesus truly is the epitome of examples in the area of kindness, courtesy, and chivalry.

The strongest man and most loving God: to lay down His life willingly for the sins of us all. Strength, no forcing us to accept His gift, not becoming angry when we reject Him or His gift. Pursuing gently, but persistently, passionately. You are fortunate to have one for a husband. Strength under control=character. A kind and gentle, courteous man is the strongest of all. I believe it shows strength, courage and a lot of respect when a man courteously opens a door for a lady, or openly treats her in a chivalrous manner. I really like that. We have discouraged men from being men, and have lost some of our femininity and womanlyness in the process.
Thanks again for the word of wisdom!
WendyWendyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08230575436747893912noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7858170935046417472.post-65333121432536359032011-02-15T19:29:20.945-06:002011-02-15T19:29:20.945-06:00I love this word. Makes me think of kings, queens ...I love this word. Makes me think of kings, queens and knights. Of course the King and Knight I think of is Jesus. He is our Saviour and I think there is none other that is as chivalrous as He.

<><child of Godhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11635805396738062444noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7858170935046417472.post-16980261092537237872011-02-15T17:10:27.424-06:002011-02-15T17:10:27.424-06:00My lovebug is definitely chivalrous.My lovebug is definitely chivalrous.Denisehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09275456448997619944noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7858170935046417472.post-23521535691008440862011-02-15T16:26:32.101-06:002011-02-15T16:26:32.101-06:00Wendy -
I don't know how I missed last week...Wendy -
I don't know how I missed last week's word. Sorry about that. I suppose you could announce to the world how forgetful I am, but I know that you will exercise "discretion" and keep it to yourself!!

Chivalrous is a great word! I've got to tell you, my husband is such a gentleman. Even as I type that, I see the word as gentle man. That is what I think of when I see the word "chivalrous." A man who is strong enough to be gentle - and to treat a woman with respect and kindness.

I never quite got the feminist movement - how they complained that chivalry somehow negated their strength. I think a man's politeness to a woman is a great testament to his level of respect for her. It isn't that she's weak, it's that she is to be treasured for her wonderful strengths.

To me, I think God is the ultimate chivalrous lover. He treats us with respect - he's never pushy or rude - but in His strength, He gives His love in a kind and gentle way. He woos us with nobility.

Off my soapbox now!!

Thanks for this - perhaps next week my memory will click in!

GOD BLESS!Sharonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00840994989201507494noreply@blogger.com
