Gooseberry Falls

We've been gone
for a few days in Duluth!

(Sorry I didn't tell you there'd be no posts for a little while :)
We enjoyed a wonderful time with my sister and her husband and their cat, Spooky.
We went Antique-shopping, ate delicious food at the Swedish Restaurant "Takk for maten"
(I had the most scrumptious Swedish Pancakes with Strawberry Preserves and Cream!)
We also went to the Portland Malt Shoppe (a tradition even in the rain and cold!)
To my great surprise, there was a man in line and the small parking area
was filled when we arrived! And others joined us
as we waited (in the rain) for our malts to be made!
One of them was a very nice man who informed us with a smile
that this was Way too cold and rainy for a man from the south!
We struck up a conversation and found out he was from Virginia!
It was a delight to meet you, Virginia Man!
Thanks for making the cold wait outside the Portland Malt Shoppe
not seem quite so cold and unbearable.
We hope you find Minnesota to be a warm and welcoming place!
(Photo on phone--will post later :)
Saturday we went to Gooseberry Falls and Split Rock Lighthouse
(well, we decided to come back another time for the tour, so we saw the Lighthouse from afar, but we took pictures of it from the Scenic Overlook, and went to the Gift Shop:).
Though we did look a little like drowned rats at times walking by the Falls,
and though it was cold and rainy the whole time we were in Duluth,
we so much enjoyed our warm fellowship with family,
and the rain didn't "dampen" our spirits too much!
Thanks, Di and Ron, for the great hospitality!

Here are some photos from our time "Up North"!

Dane climbed up to this cave and if I can figure out how to
get the photos off of my phone, I'll post the photo of it!

We were wondering what happened to you! Sounds like you had a fun time! We enjoyed all the pictures.
I remember going to Goosberry Falls many years ago - it was so pretty there. (I think we went in the summer though.) ;)

Love,
Alyssa
