Thankful Thursday: "Feeling" Thankful?

Well, for some reason this Thursday, even though it's Thankful Thursday, to be honest, I'm not "feeling" very thankful. I'm fighting a bug which has been dragging me down all week, which makes me feel a little like going back to bed. And I also have reason to believe that I'm in a spiritual battle. When I don't "feel" very thankful in my emotions, I have to go past my emotions to my spirit which is led by the truth of Scripture, and with my will I obey!
1 Thessalonians 5:18 (King James Version)
18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

I've had some opportunities this week to speak Truth where lies or error were being spoken, and share Scripture boldly.  God also showed me some areas which I needed to surrender to Him.  God spoke to my heart, encouraging me to have more faith, through the verses I read in Matthew 21:21-22, as I'm back on track with reading through the Bible this year.  Certain circumstances which took place this week lead me to believe that God is beginning to send the answer to a long-time prayer of my heart.

I'm seeing God's Hand at work in my life.

I give my heartful thanks to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, for all His wondrous works! I praise Him and thank Him for His unspeakable gift of salvation, for the Holy Spirit at work in me: rebuking, reproving, convicting, speaking truth out to the world through my mouth and keyboard, changing me and causing me to find the joy of surrender in everything. I give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning me.

And you know, I suddenly feel very thankful!

Wendy - I often find the times feel most unthankful, events happen that really allow me to see His hand at work. I like the scripture you shared. I wrote a post a few weeks back based on this verse (I believe I linked it with Thankful Thursday). Sometimes it is hard to be thankful, but no matter what we are going through, He is with us.

Thank you for visiting my blog today. I agree with you in that often God is preparing us while we wait for His answers. He was certainly preparing both me and my husband while we waited for our church home.

Blessings,
Joan

Hi Wendy,

It's encouraging to read of your thankful heart though you feel unwell! I am praying for you. May our dear Lord strengthen and restore you. Thank God for giving you the courage and the grace to speak the Truth. He is surely a prayer hearing and prayer answering God! He loves us dearly and know what is best for us! May He continue to guide and bless you. Thanks for your visit and encouragements. Take care and may He keep you in His loving care daily!

With much love,
Nancie
