Love and Marriage: I (Still) Do

Marriage isn't a feeling. It's a commitment...it's a promise.

It's for better or for worse

for richer, for poorer

in sickness and in health,

til death do us part.

Love is not a feeling.

It's a commitment...a covenant.

A promise.

And I still do.

Thank you, dears,for your sweet comments! It seems hard to believe that we are at 32 years. LaDonna, that's wonderful that you are coming up to 10! Praise the Lord! Thanks, Denise, yes, Lord willing, we will have many more years! James, I had to laugh at the phrase, because I thought of salt, pepper, garlic and onion, but spice is good! Actually, I would much rather be at this time of being "seasoned", than at the beginning again. It has been a very, very good life so far!

Wendy said...: Thanks, Leanna! How sweet! I just realized that I probably confused people, because I posted about our anniversary on June 2, because it was a Wednesday and I do the series Love and Marriage on Wednesdays, but actually our anniversary was today, June 3! Sorry! But, I still think that's pretty special that your parents' anniversary is just one year, almost to the day(!) after ours! So neat.
Tonight we went out for dinner, just to Perkins, and took our grown children with us:) and then came back home and watched the Love and Respect video series (#2) which we're watching with them, (except the parts specifically on sex, because they're still single) cuz it's so fantastic in helping you understand the different way we're wired, (men and women) and it will prepare them for marriage, and help them and us in even our family interactions.
