Spring is Here!

Happy Resurrection Day!
Realizing how long it's been since I've posted to this blog, I'm including more photos to make it more interesting. I like looking at pictures, don't you?

On the left: Mical with Kelsey after our class (Mical's our friend and one of our Spanish teachers; she is the daughter of missionaries from Chile)

Kelsey took care of the neighbor's dogs, Emmy and Oscar, and for a few days, their

"cousins," Pumpkin and Buddy. Emmy and Pumpkin came visiting and made us smile with their "childlikeness" and energy! They really ate up all the attention!

Kelsey babysat Sarah & Joel, with a friend's help, for 3 days.

Joel says things in the most amazing way! There's no one like him! I can't wait to see what he's going to be like when he grows up!

When I went to pick up Kelsey and the kids to take them to their friends' home, I sprained my ankle! Kelsey went to the car to tell Joel and Sarah what the delay was about, and when I came to get in the car, Joel said to me (with his cute little "lithspy" voice), "It took a long time. Kelsey told us why and I feel really bad." I told him it would be fine, and not to feel bad. He said, "Well, I still love you, but I still feel really bad." How can you not love a kid like that!

Later, as we drove, he asked what the speed limit was, and when I told him, he told me he would be watching my speed, (And he did!) "cuz you don't want to get a speeding ticket."

After the late March snowstorm, the ice is off of the lake! Today I saw the first canoes on the lake, and heard the geese flying in. One morning last week I heard the plaintive call of a loon!
Spring is finally here!

We are really enjoying looking through clean windows! All because of Dane's new window-washing business! He calls it Dane's Window Washing--simple, but effective! I told him his motto should be: "No pane--No Dane!" (I don't know why he didn't like it!)

Resurrection Day: my mom came for dinner; she is an amazing pianist, who at 87 is still playing beautifully! She played for us and effortlessly transitioned from the old Swedish hymn, "Day by Day," to totally different kinds of songs, including "Sunrise Serenade" and "Dream," which were popular songs, she says, in the 1930's when, in 11th grade, she taught herself to play by ear! We enjoyed her stories from "the old days."Grandma T., Kelsey and me
I love this picture!

Kelsey and Grandma on Valentine's Day

She invited us to a special luncheon at her church

My mom still plays beautifully at 87 years young!

Things that happened in the last couple of weeks:

Kelsey finished taking care of the neighbor's two dogs--then babysat 2 children for 3 days, I sprained my ankle, we attended a baby shower, we completed tons of Spanish homework, we had car problems with 2 of our 3 vehicles, Dane worked almost full-time for the first time in I don't know how long (PTL!), Jerry fixed vehicles, we prepared for our Bible Studies and hosted them, I had an eye checkup and picked out new glasses, Kelsey started her plants indoors (many herbs and other plants), I had a wonderful string of birthday-celebration lunches for several friends and our Home Church met here on Palm Sunday, ... and most importantly(!)

We celebrated the resurrection of

our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

He is risen! He is risen indeed!!
