Independence Day: Founding Fathers Quotes

Today we celebrate America's Independence Day!  Our country is blessed to have a heritage of faith--our foundations are uniquely Christian.  Scriptural beliefs and principles are woven into all the foundational documents and events, which were undergirded by prayer, because of the Godly Christian men who sacrificed and moved to make this nation a reality.  History has, unfortunately, been revised by many people in recent decades.  There is one person, however, who is making it his aim to correct the misinformation, and declare the faith of our founding fathers, using their own words to convey their beliefs.  If you ever have the opportunity to hear David Barton speak, don't miss it.  Sit up close, and listen carefully.  His bio states,

"His exhaustive research has rendered him an expert in historical and constitutional issues and he serves as a consultant to state and federal legislators, has participated in several cases at the Supreme Court, was involved in the development of the History/Social Studies standards for states such as Texas and California, and has helped produce history textbooks now used in schools across the nation."

No one can pack more information into a presentation in a given amount of time than he! How does he do it?  He talks at the speed of light! Well, almost. But, more importantly, he has memorized a most impressive amount of facts, statistics, and quotes which come from an even more impressive personal collection of original documents from Founding Fathers and statesmen.  His study and research earn him the title "expert" and I respect him greatly as a Christian historian.

On the day we celebrate America's Independence Day, I thought I'd include some links to Quotes from the Founding Fathers and Statesmen on Jesus, Christianity and the Bible, from David Barton's site, Wallbuilders.
One example, which I especially like, is this one from John Adams, signer of the Declaration of Independence, and 2nd President of the United States:
