Thankful Thursday: God's Character

The Lord has His reasons, and we do not always know, nor is He required to inform us of why He does what He does.  But we have only to look at His everlasting faithfulness, His eternal love, His un-rushed wisdom to cause us to rest in His arms and be at peace.

It's Thankful Thursday, (visit Lynn at Spiritually Unequal Marriage to read more thankful posts and participate--thanks, Lynn, for hosting!). Today I'm thankful for these verses from the Word of God which tell of the Character of God, my Father:

"There is none like unto the God of Jeshurun,

who rideth upon the heaven in thy help,

and in his excellency on the sky.

The eternal God is thy refuge,

and underneath are the everlasting arms:

and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee;

and shall say, Destroy them."

Deuteronomy 33:26-27

"The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying,

Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love:

therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee."

Jeremiah 31:3

"Be still, and know that I am God:

I will be exalted among the heathen,

I will be exalted in the earth."

Psalm 46:10

"1Fear not:  for I have redeemed thee,

I have called thee by thy name;

thou art mine.

 7Even every one that is called by my name: 

for I have created him for my glory. 

I have formed him:  yea, I have made him. 

10-11Ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord,

and my servant whom I have chosen; that ye may know and believe me,

and understand that I am he: 

before me there was no God formed,

neither shall there be after me.

I, even I, am the LORD;

and beside me there is no savior. 

13Yea, before the day was I am he."

Isaiah 43:1, 7, 10-11

"Nor is there salvation in any other,

for there is no other name under heaven

given among men

by which we must be saved.”
