Food Friday: Panic Pot Roast

I'm off in a hurry this morning, and I won't be home again until supper, so what am I doing about the family's meal?  Pot Roast in the Slow cooker!  Just plop it in--I did take it out of the freezer last night, but if you didn't, just run it under hot water and then put it in on high instead of low--salt and pepper, cut up some onion or use onion flakes, and peel and cut up (into about 1 inch chunks) about 6-8 carrots (for our family of 4) and about the same number of potatoes (actually, more or less, depending on how much your family likes the vegetables), put the cover on and turn it to low--
Now Go and Be at Peace instead of in a Panic :)
Have a great day, everybody!  I'll report back and let you know about my day!  How's yours going?

Hi Wendy:

Welcome back! :)

A roast prepared in the crock pot is one of my favorite meals. I like to cook them on Sundays so that when we get home from church, the meal is ready!

Have a blessed weekend.

Joan, I like to do that, too. It smells so good when you walk in the door! What seasonings do you use on yours? I think Pot Roast is one of the simplest meals to make, and yet it is special enough for company, or makes the family feel loved. It was my stock "company meal" when we were first married. We also like to use the leftover roast beef in Beef Pot Pie (I'll have to post that on Food Friday, if I haven't already:) Kelsey loves to make that, and has been wanting to do it this week, but we haven't had time--it does take a little extra prep and planning ahead, and I don't like to have it too often, because it's really high in calories, and it's so delicious, it's hard to use self-control!
Have a blessed Lord's Day, Joan!
