Quotes to Help You Keep a Quiet Heart: Manage It (Victorious in Christ) Monday

Do you believe that God is in control?  Of every little detail of our lives?
I want to share a quote that I heard in a talk called "A Stronghold of My Life" by Elisabeth Elliot: (I strongly encourage you to go to the first item under "Moving Messages" at the bottom of this blog, entitled "Elisabeth Elliot" and then click on "A Stronghold of My life" to listen to this message which addresses the question of whether God is in control of everything in our lives, as well as the other messages you will find there by her.  God has used them so greatly in my life.)

"Strive to see God in all things without exception
and acquiesce in His will with absolute submission.
Do everything for God
uniting yourself to Him
by a mere upward glance
or by the overflowing of your heart towards Him.

Never be in a hurry.

Do everything quietly
and in a calm spirit.

Do not lose your inward peace for anything whatsoever...
even if your whole world seems upset.

Commend all to God

and then

lie still

and be at rest in His bosom.
Whatever happens
abide steadfast
in a determination to cling simply to God
trusting to His eternal love for you.

And if you find that you have wandered forth
from this shelter,

recall your heart
quietly and simply.
Maintain a holy simplicity of mind
and do not smother yourself with a host of cares,
wishes, or longings
under any pretext."
Francis De Sales (1567-1622)

Wendy - So blessed by this. It brought such quiet to my spirit. This was the line that spoke to me the most: "Do not lose your inward peace for anything whatsoever...
even if your whole world seems upset."

Yes, Lord -

GOD BLESS!

Dear Jennie,
Yes, it is balm to the heart. Didn't get to talk to you much, but want you to know I love you, and you're in my prayers.

Sharon,
Did you get a chance to listen to her message? Listening to this quote read by her was even more calming and meaningful. The phrase you liked hit me, as well. Also, this one: "And if you find that you have wandered forth
from this shelter, recall your heart quietly and simply....and do not smother yourself with a host of cares, wishes, or longings under any pretext."
A lot of wisdom in those words. Oh, that I might learn to have a quiet heart always.
Love ya,
Wendy
