Wendy,
Thanks for sharing these pictures from your trip. They are very sobering and at the same time encouraging.

Thanks, Annette. Yes, there is something sobering about them. I want to give an indication of the amazing amount of Scripture that was all over Washington, DC, in museums, national buildings, on walls and on statues. I'm planning to share photos this week. I've meant to post them by now, but somehow almost 3 months have gone by. I hope you like the photos!

Wendy - I was really moved by this post. Your pictures were very nice. But your words were special. I'm afraid that our country has forgotten its loyalty to God. We have become a nation who ignores their "King." My sister told me that in her high-school son's home room, they only say the Pledge of Allegiance once a week - because they don't want to "offend" anyone! Honestly, how can we think that we have God on our "side" in anything anymore?

In God I trust - and I'm praying that our country has a revival of some sort - so that America can proclaim and believe again - In God WE trust!

Thanks for sharing.

GOD BLESS!

Sharon,
I'm praying that very same prayer--for revival in our land: beginning with a heart of repentance, starting with the house of God! May we seek His face, and turn from our wicked ways, and May God bless America once more.

I love your pictures! We spent a brief time in DC last week. The children can't wait to go back and see more. I loved seeing their excitement at being in our nation's capital.

Sue,
DC is one of my favorite places to visit. So much history, and fascinating places to tour, and the museums are all free!
Thanks for commenting,

Hi Wendy -

I came here because I "saw" you on Sharon's blog. You mentioned a piece on Elisabeth Eliot (did I spell those right?) and I came here to find it.

Then to my pleasant surprise, I noticed that you had visited my hometown, D.C. Glad you enjoyed your visit.

If you are inclined to view some photog shots of D.C., please visit my photo blogs www.photosplendorplus.blogspot.com - in particular, look in the October 2010 Archive section. Also, there are three photos that deal with President Lincoln - also in the October 2010 section.

My other photo blog www.photogplaza.blogspot.com has photos of The Aquatic Gardens in D.C., Meridian Hill Park in D.C., and some photos from Baltimore, Maryland and Shenandoah National Park in VA.

Thank you, Wendy, for your consideration.

I'm off now to search on your blog for the Eliot piece that you mentioned on Sharon's blog.

Hi!
So glad to hear about your photos, and I can't wait to head over and look at them! We absolutely loved D.C. and I know we all would love to go back again. Thank you so much for sharing the info about your sites! I'm glad, too, that you were able to find the Elis. Elliot link to her messages. Her messages have had such an impact on my life. Every time I listen to one, God uses it profoundly! He has challenged me, encouraged me, and strengthened my faith through her life. And whenever I share them with others (you can download them onto CDs and share them yourself!) they always tell me how much God has used the message in their life. I'm very grateful for this Godly woman, and her faithfulness.
Hope to hear from you often and get a chance to get to know you!
Thanks again, so much, for your encouraging comment!
Many blessings,
Wendy
